Introduction

My name is Maricela, but I have many nicknames such as: Cella, Chells, Lufi, Pika (cause I like Pokémon and love Pikachu), Madi, and Marie. I would prefer Lufi though. I’m originally from Racine, Wisconsin. There’s one absolute thing I love about Milwaukee and that would be downtown Milwaukee. I love all the lights that come on at night. I love how it just gleams in the night sky. I don’t know I just like lights. Since I have lived in Milwaukee most of my life, Downtown Milwaukee has always been my favorite thing about Milwaukee. I have 3 sisters and 1 older brother; I am the oldest out of the girls. One of my sisters had pasted in a car accident we got into about 10 years ago. We have a year old dog by the name of Molly, she is a German Shepard chow mix, and I have a cat by the name of Lufia. I like to draw, play games, hang out with friends, listen to music, and watch horror movies when I have the time; which is hardly ever because of school. I really don’t have any wishes I could wish for, they would all end out badly in the end if we really actually think about it. I don’t know just my feelings on the whole “If you had one wish, what would you wish for?” question. My major is psychology. Psychology is the study of individuals’ behavior and mental health. It is very interesting to me to see how emotions and the brain work. Psychology, to be honest wasn’t even on my mind to make that field my major. My first major was becoming a veterinarian, probably since I was 8 I use to watch animal planet a lot and would watch a show called “Animal Cops.” I loved animals a lot and wanted to help them but then I noticed that I would have to put animals down and watch families cry over their injured dogs or cats. But then I had taken a psychology course in my old college and fell in love with it, so I changed my major from a pre-vet to psychology. The best class that I can remember taking was my psychology 101 class in my previous college. I had an awesome instructor and friends that I loved to be around. They made the class fun and exciting; the instructor would even let us listen to our IPods when we took an exam or quiz. Because of that I loved the class. Since I love music and psychology, it was the best of both worlds. My high school English teacher was a lot different than any other English teacher I’ve had in my life. He believed that creative writing was always the best way to teach students. I enjoyed his class also. I love writing fiction stories, I would always try but then I would get bored and stop writing (then again my writing was never good).  I enjoy reading fantasy romance books, I just love, love stories. They always excite me and make me all emotional. I’m a very big hearted, kind, and caring person. So when I see so much love and affection, I tend to get carried away. The only simile that I could say about reading is “For me…reading is like a gateway…from reality.” In the books I read, authors can create a much better and fun life in books. It takes your mind away from reality for a bit. I notice that people tend to put themselves into what they are reading, due to the “I’s” in the story and enjoy themselves. My biggest fear for college-leveled English classes would be failing. I hate failing classes because I have never failed a class in my life and since I did fail my other English class it really upset me. So I am trying to focus and do better for this semester. Oh and I get embarrassed of my writing because I know others use more sophisticated words then I do. It makes me feel like I’m not good enough to even be around them. The kind of environment I like or am more comfortable in is a fun environment. I am a shy person but once people get to know me, I am actually pretty hyper. I love to make friends and see people smile and laugh.  I like a happy environment because a stressful one is just stressful and make people have headaches and stuff. Well the only thing I could possibly think people would wonder about me is “why does she limp?” As I mention earlier in the essay, my family and I were involved in a car accident and I had serious injuries. I have scars and my leg broke in the process with many other parts. I have a drop foot, which means my nerves in my right foot don’t work. I had dropped a mini TV on my foot before and didn’t even feel a thing. So because of the drop foot I have to wear a brace on my foot which causes me to limp a bit. But beside that I am very friendly and kind. I am an awesome friend and love helping others.
