Assignment #8
I really liked how most of all the opinions on Orleans "Lifelike" article was centered around her explaining and educating the ones who don't know what taxidermy was, to the readers who don't know, know about taxidermy. I am surprised to see how everyone's essay will turn out due to the fact that everyone seems to have the same thinking on Orlean's article. The tones seemed to be kind of the same in a way on how Orlean's tone of the writing came out. Everyone suspected that it was a journalists tone.
My own reflection.
Since I haven't really attempted to write my essay due to the fact that iIwasn't that confident in her purpose of the article until now. I think I will focus how my attention of the whole pathos, ethos, and logos of her essay. She had did well with the three and playing with the audiences emotions. I will try very hard to be more creative with my writing and have a very formative tone. Making myself sound sophisticated and trustworthy and show how much work and passion I put into the text.
I like how you include the fact that you include the ideas of other writers opinions about the text and the fact that Susan Orlean was a journalist. Is there a specific quote in the text that leads you to believe that the text had a journalis tone?
ReplyDeleteGood. I like that you set a plan for your draft. Try being a bit more specific though: how/where does Orlean play with the audience? What do you mean by be more creative?
