[Group work] Reflection

[Group work] Reflection

Part uno (part 1): My overall thinking of my group work: To be honest I really don't think I did well with working with my group. But then again I had forgot my materials in Alabama, so I really didn't get my groups to think on much of my thoughts or ideas. My thoughts and ideas were different to what they really talked about. I felt like I my ideas weren't really smart enough ideas for them. I really don't like working in groups, I mean I do like listening to other people's ideas, but working in groups kind of scares me and puts me under pressure. Listening to others ideas helped me out a lot with my "LifeLike" essay and it helped me out even now. Just I feel like I learned more about the text from other groups than my own.

Part dos (part two): Intro one-pager: I really liked the way they drew their image. To be honest that was the most interesting thing we had to do out of the assignment. But this group had gave me ideas to focus on. They had introduced Stein's thoughts on the Macintosh ad and I believe it helped me out a lot. They had introduced that the ad played much part in society and culture. I can focus on that alone. I couldn't find the question that they had introduced so I can't respond to it.

Theoretical Framework: I really liked they question they introduced and the image or symbol they had drew out. it was cute. The question was "Does Stein portray the ad as a movement toward revolution or does it go back to the idea of consumers being subjects to brainwashing?" I believe that they way Stein introduces the article about they Macintosh ad. made it seem like it was a critical movement in the Technology era. But she gives a subtly hint about ads works. Ads have a criteria to follow just as her essay had a specific criteria she had to follow. The object of a ad is suppose to get the audiences attention and make them feel like they cant live without the object being shown. I think she tries to show both aspects of the ads and the product of the computer in her essay.

Part tres (part three): I guess after reading the one pagers i feel like with the help I am able to get somewhere. I believe i can introduce the ways the ad had helped companies build and create better ads. I believe i can get somewhere with it. I think that the one pagers could connect with my groups one pager is the fact that Stein used so many examples to prove and hopped that at least the reader would have seen at least one of the movies. I guess you could say that, that was a thing I learned from my particular group.

  1. Madi, I like your engagement with the other groups' work. If you were going to use what you learned from these to create a controlling purpose, what would it look like or focus on?
