Sedaris "Standing by"
Sedaris’ “Standing By”
The article by David Sedaris named “Standing By” was a rather interesting piece of work. The article, I believe was a mixer of serious issues yet with a bit of humor mixed into it. The authors article starts out in an airport and meets many people, who talk to him about other people criticizing politics and on the appearance of others. Sedaris then goes on thinking and making humorous jokes about the things happening around him. In the end points out a very strong point. “If my own little mind is nailed shut, why wouldn’t theirs be?” (Sedaris 277)

I think you hit on the information that you need for a summary of "Standing By." However, I'm not sure that someone who hasn't read the article would be able to fully understand what you mean by all of it. What might help is to go a little bit more into detail, especially with the purpose. Don't make the quote speak for itself; also explain what you think the purpose is.
